MCM’s London Comic Con is the biggest convention on the UK calendar. We’ve been exhibiting regularly since 2015 and love to see the range of cosplayers that head down to the Excel Centre. Here’s a look at some of our favourites.
Last month we put out the latest in our cosplay creativity series, featuring fantastic cosplayers telling us more about their creative process. In our opinion, cosplayers and creativity go hand in hand.
So after we filled our Comic Con table with manga and clothing, the next thing to do is go out in search of cosplayers to photograph. Our Facebook gallery has the full set of photos you can check out, plus other cool things we saw at the show.
And in no particular order, here are the top 10 cosplayers we saw over the Comic Con weekend. Enjoy!
Pennywise & Loser’s Club
With the recent release of IT, there were a few Pennywise cosplayers around. This Pennywise particularly freaked us out, though he was nice enough to bring some members of the Loser’s Club with him so can’t be all that bad.
Daenerys Targaryen
We found Daenerys Stormborn of the House Targaryen, First of Her Name, the Unburnt, Queen of the Andals and the First Men, Khaleesi of…actually, let just go with “Dany”.
This cosplayer even made her own dragon – a fantastic effort here!
Justice League
We first spotted Wonder Woman on her own but this photo was taken after reuniting with some of the Justice League. Group cosplay makes everyone’s effort that much better.
Fallout Mech Suit
The dedication of cosplayers never fails to amaze us. We often hear of people spending weeks or month on their outfits for Comic Con. Can’t image how long this took to put together but it was clearly time well spent!
Cuphead
We haven’t had the chance to play Cuphead ourselves but have been hearing good thing about this indie run and gun game. This is definitely one of the funniest cosplayers we met at Comic Con.
Batman
We’re big fans of the Dark Knight at mayamada so there may be some bias in the entry. But really, this is an impressive Batman cosplay.
Khal Drogo
Two Game of Thrones cosplayers in our top 10 list…maybe we’re still not over the ending of season 7!
Shovel Knight
Whenever we see cosplayers in full armour, we can’t help but wonder how long before they start to get too warm. Luckily it was October and maybe there were some strategically placed ice packs in there.
Devil Jin
Video game characters are leading this top 10 list and here’s another from the Tekken series. The horn and wings are especially impressive on this cosplayer!
Thor & Loki
If you’ve already Thor: Ragnarok you’ll know what a blast it is. It’s a hilariously fun adventure and the inspiration for many Thor and Loki pairs. We caught these two in the Marvel Zone…no surprise there.
