The release of our second manga, Serious, was a big step to growing the mayamada universe. In 2016, we’ll be taking it several steps further with a regular release of titles over the year.

When we first came up with the idea for the fantasy television network that is mayamada, we had four show ideas that would be told through manga-style comics. Since then there have been more ideas but in the new year, each one of those original four will be brought to life. You’ve seen the Samurai Chef and Serious comics…we’ve now started work on our third title, Hot Lunch.

That’s right, more food based storylines are coming to mayamada comics!

This is a very different story than Samurai Chef though. Cue movie trailer guy voice. Ahem…

“For two decades the Circle of Flavour has controlled the restaurant trade for their own clandestine ends. Their reign appears absolute until a band of thieves, led by former chef Taishi Yoshida, set out to dismantle the organisation and free its grip on the nation.”

So not quite the action comedy of our first comic, but we know you’ll enjoy it all the same when Episode 1 is released at the end of January. For now, you can enjoy the cover artwork and stay tuned to our Instagram page to get a sneak peek at the characters that will be in the story.
