We’re happy to announce that we will be taking part in this year’s StreetFest on Bank Holiday Sunday, 4th May.
We’ll be organising a number of activities in collaboration with the StreetFest team, plus have our own spot in the market where you will be able to get your hands on our range of t-shirts, snapbacks and comics.
More details will be revealed over April so stay tuned!
Earlier this month we meet up with music artist Jaunty to shoot some video for a new mayamada project. Spring hadn’t quite hit London yet but Jaunty was out in his “When A Plan” tee as we spent the morning filming.

We’re almost there! We’re so close to the launch of the Samurai Chef Kickstarter and we’ve got a double hit for you with two new characters that will feature at some point in the story.

A member of Oak Kitchen. Kamu and the Samurai Chef have past history and is particularly eager to bring about the downfall of the Samurai Chef, but needs the right team to make it happen.

This past weekend saw the first Huddersfield Manga Con, and to celebrate we’re giving 25% off our website to every cosplayer that tags mayamada in a photo of yourself in your best cosplay.
In addition to that we’ll put the best photos on a Facebook gallery and allow con goers to vote for the best photo. The one with the most Likes by the end of March 31st will win a copy of Samurai Chef and be given the chance to be drawn as an animal character into the upcoming Samurai Chef volume 2!

The Kickstarter for the second volume of Samurai Chef is just a few weeks away and we’re continuing our look at some of the characters that will feature in the story.

Last week our friend Chromatone was in the line up for Showcase Live in London’s Under the Bridge venue. We met Chromatone through his YouTube videos and loved his style. His live performance was no different – a great mix of singing and break dancing backed by a live band.

We announced a week ago that work has begun on the second and concluding volume of Samurai Chef, and we’re getting ready to launch a Kickstarter campaign for the new book in March.
Before it launches, we’ll be putting up some great character artwork by the Samurai Chef illustrator Pinali. Take a look at some of the characters making an appearance in the next chapter of the story.
First up is the Samurai Chef. The toughest food critics around, the Samurai Chef is the main protagonist of the Samurai Chef story and in volume 2 he’ll be up against tougher dishes as the show continues to escalate.
