Mayamada Prime Time Volume 1: Our Kickstarter Campaign

Since we started making teaser pages of manga for each of our shows, people have continued to ask as when is the full book coming out.  We didn’t have an answer for them, until now that is.

Today we launched our long awaited Kickstarter campaign to raise the funds needed to create a full mayamada manga book. We wanted to do this in a big way and really showcase our world of fantasy television in manga form and we’re so excited to get the word out to you all.

To make this happen we’ve teamed up with four great artists to produce the artwork for four of the first four shows on the mayamada network: Samurai Chef, The 11th Hour, Hot Lunch, and Serious.  The last one is a brand new show.

But why am I doing so much talking?  You can find out all the details on our Kickstarter page where you can find out how to get involved: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/401125455/mayamada-prime-time-manga-vol-1

We’ll have many more details on the progress of the campaign over the next month, including all the rewards you can get for supporting the book.

Stay tuned!

“Once Again, One Day” Supporting Aid For Japan

Nigel May 13, 2012 No Comments

We first met Aaron Jaunty at our picnic last year and since then we discovered he is hard at work making a name for himself in the music world.

He recently released a EP called Once Again, One Day produced by K-Nite 13. You can listen to it on his website.

The album was entirely written by Aaron during his visit to Japan when he landed on the day of the 2011 tsunami.

You can listen to it out here for free, or you can pay £5 (or more if you want) for the download and CD version.  I got mine this past week 🙂

All the proceeds toward the EP go to Aid For Japan’s ongoing efforts to support children affect by the tragedy last year. Give it a listen and pick up the CD if you like what you here – show your support for a good cause.

Anime Showtime Travel Info

Here’s a travel update for everyone heading to the screening this Sunday.

There is no Victoria line and no service to Loughborough Junction rail station unfortunately.  But we can officially announce that we’ve arranged to have you driven to the screening by one of the many red buses travelling on London roads 🙂

Public Transport

The easiest route is from Elephant and Castle underground station (Zone 1 +2, Bakerloo Line) where you can walk to bus stop R outside the shopping centre and catch bus number 45 or bus number 35 to Loughborough Junction rail station: http://g.co/maps/q336a
Head to bus stp R

It’s a 20 minute ride from Elephant and Castle to Loughborough Junction rail station: http://g.co/maps/u5p24

Bus journey to Loughborough Junction

Once you get to the bus stop near Loughborough Junction rail station, we’re right around the corner: http://g.co/maps/34u9y

Walk from Loughborough Junction

An alternative is to use replacement bus services which will run along the Victoria line to Brixton underground station.

From there you can cross to the side of the road opposite the station to bus stop T (in front of Haart/Specsavers) where you can catch bus 35 or bus 45.

The bus ride is less than 10 minutes and you need to get off at Loughborough Junction rail station and walk from there: http://g.co/maps/34u9y
Make sure to check on any engineering works that could affect your journey.

There are still a few tickets available (at least when this post was made), so be quick if you want to book your spot.

Here’s a run down of what we’ll be up to on the day.

Prizes

We’re going to kick things off by giving everyone a chance to take part in our competition to win a special prize.

Popcorn

Judging from the talk on our Facebook page, mixing sweet and salted popcorn is popular. Well, we’ll have both kinds available for you guys before the film starts.

Steamboy

Once everyone has their popcorn we’ll kick off the main event. There’ll be a short break in between the film before we continue.

Popup shop

We’ll have a one time popup shop featuring all the mayamada t-shirts from the gift shop available for a discounted price. We’ll also have the Word Salad tee in white which you can’t get on the website.

We’ll be back next week to give you all the travel information so you know the best way to get to the screening.

Stay Tuned.

We’re Experiencing Technical Difficulties

mayamada March 10, 2012 No Comments

If you’ve been on our fan page for any length of time, you’ll know we’ve been working on a new hoodie for the past few months.

They were delivered last week but unfortunately, weren’t up to the standard we except for any item we put our name too.

We’re working on having them re-done as soon as we can, but because of that they’ll be a delay in getting them to you.

In the meantime, we’re offering FREE DELIVERY on every item in the gift shop on the website for the rest of the month.

We’ll have more sneak peek photos of the new hoodie like the one below soon.
