London Anime & Gaming Con

We’ll be making another appearance at the London Anime & Gaming Con this July 5th and 6th and we’ve got a lot in store for you.

A bit hit at February’s LAGC, and we’re bringing a new summer colour way of the popular Norio t-shirt design plus Norio phone cases for iPhone 4, 4S and 5.

You’ll also get to check out the upcoming Samurai Chef inspired snapback caps and get 10% off when they are released later in summer.

And last but not least, we’re bringing the Character Trail game to LAGC!

Find and scan the 7 mayamada characters hidden around the Rocket Complex for a chance to win a mayamada prize bag including t-shirts and comics.

Each character will give you letters that you have to rearrange to get the secret word. The first person to complete the game and say the secret word at the mayamada stall will win.

New SAMURAI Hats @ StreetFest

Earlier this month we took the first few of our new “SAMURAI” snapback caps to StreetFest. We had a great time taking photos with people wearing them, they all look great!

This past bank holiday weekend saw our return to StreetFest, held in Hackney for the first time. It was an amazing celebration of streetwear fashion, music, skaters and artists all under one roof (figuratively speaking).

StreetFest Character Trail

We’re teaming up with StreetFest to give you a chance to win great street wear and more prizes in our new interactive game.

How To Play

To get involved, find the 7 mayamada character signs hidden around StreetFest 2014 and scan them with the QR code app on your smartphone.

Find and scan all 7 mayamada characters hidden around StreetFest on May 4th 2014.
Each character will give you a letter and a clue to the single word answer.
Once you have every letter, you’ll need to rearrange them to get the single word answer.
The first 3 people to say the correct word at the mayamada stall will win great prizes.

What You’ll Need

A Smartphone.
A QR code app like QR Reader (iPhone), QR Droid (Android) or Bing Vision (Windows Phone).

The mayamada characters are hidden around the following StreetFest areas:

The mayamada stall in the fashion market.
Chill Out Beach.
Live Art area.
Red Bull Sport Zone.
Dance stage.
Chill Out Terrace.
Unsigned London stage.

But you’ll have to be quick! Only the first 3 people to figure out the secret word will win.

Prizes

Prizes are up for grabs for the first 3 people to say the correct single word answer at the mayamada stall on Sunday May 4th.

You can also come to the mayamada stall at StreetFest for any help with the game.

Tony Goff At The Good Ship

We took some time out to see Tony Goff perform at the Good Ship in London this weekend.

We met Tony, Kieran and Max earlier in 2013 and have been following them since. They’re fans of ours too and will be wearing some of our range on their tour in Denmark next month.

mayamada Coming To StreetFest 2014

We’re happy to announce that we will be taking part in this year’s StreetFest on Bank Holiday Sunday, 4th May.

We’ll be organising a number of activities in collaboration with the StreetFest team, plus have our own spot in the market where you will be able to get your hands on our range of t-shirts, snapbacks and comics.

Huddersfield Manga Con Cosplay Competition

This past weekend saw the first Huddersfield Manga Con, and to celebrate we’re giving 25% off our website to every cosplayer that tags mayamada in a photo of yourself in your best cosplay.

In addition to that we’ll put the best photos on a Facebook gallery and allow con goers to vote for the best photo. The one with the most Likes by the end of March 31st will win a copy of Samurai Chef and be given the chance to be drawn as an animal character into the upcoming Samurai Chef volume 2!

Chromatone @ Showcase Live

Last week our friend Chromatone was in the line up for Showcase Live in London’s Under the Bridge venue. We met Chromatone through his YouTube videos and loved his style. His live performance was no different – a great mix of singing and break dancing backed by a live band.

London Anime & Gaming Con

We spent this past weekend at the London Anime & Gaming Con. As usual it was a good mix of the wacky and wonderful in a relaxed community environment.

The event also saw us give our first Q&A panel at any convention. We were given the opportunity to talk on stage about the brand and characters, Samurai Chef included, as well as the manga we create.

It was a great two days seeing some cool cosplayers, meeting new fans and we even saw a marriage proposal!

Find Us At London Anime Con

We’ve got our table placement for London Anime Con! We’ll be in front of the seating area facing the stage, stop by and say hi this weekend.

We’ll also be on the downstairs stage between 2.30pm and 3pm doing a manga Q&A. We’ll be talking about the mayamada brand and letting you ask us how we put together our manga titles. We’ll also be giving exclusive details on the upcoming Samurai Chef Volume 2, so don’t miss out!
