The GamePad summer 2016 event took place last month in west London. We had a blast with a great group of gamer guy and girls enjoying a day of social gaming.
Social Gaming at GamePad
So what is social gaming anyway? Well, we believe in multiplayer gaming in the same space is something that has been lost over console generations with more an more people playing online.
We want to bring that experience back!
Once again we worked with gaming event specialists Nth Gen Interactive and MonHun Offline. As usual, they made sure the gaming ran smoothly as possible. Ubisoft also join in on the fun for a second time. It’s amazing to have a video game giant like them supporting the event.
GamePad has been featured in Eventbrite, Lastminute.com, Time Out Magazine, The Evening Standard and The Metro. It’s thanks to everyone who turns up each time that we’ve been able to spread the word about GamePad and social gaming.
This an event for all types of people, and that’s the way we like it. Gaming often gets a bad reputation in the press but we’re showing the positive side of gaming. Anyone can get on different console set ups and play casually on games from TrackMania Turbo, House of the Dead, to Street Fighter and Super Smash Bros. Hand held gamers are welcome too.
That’s not to say you can’t get competitive if you want to! Not only did Ubisoft run two time trial competitions, but we also ran tournaments on Street Fighter V and Smash Bros.
Competition makes things interesting for sure. Even if you don’t take part it was great to watch people go at it. It’s been great to see the community build up over multiple GamePad events over the past year. We’re taking it to a new level for our next event and we can’t can’t wait to let you in on the plans.
What we can say for now is that the next event be in a brand new venue. We’ll also be getting more companies involved as we work on making future GamePad events bigger and better each time!
Stay tuned…
