Story x Story #149: Roll For Podcast (Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves)

This week, Nigel and Tazziii roll a D20 to determine whether the podcast will happen or not. Joining us on our deep dive into Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves (starting at 23:00) are Session Zero Sorceress BillieTrixx and Game Designer James Wallis.

We delve into this latest attempt at capturing the D&D Zeitgeist, and thankfully, this is a much more successful effort than in 2000! The heist format makes for a great structure to tell a D&D-inspired narrative, and we examine the narrative decisions that allowed what was once a niche hobby to be brought to mainstream audiences. In this episode’s storytelling tip, Nigel talks about creating a reactive protagonist.
