We recently went on a outing with Jaunty, taking some time and pictures in the London’s Japanese Garden and ending the day with some sushi too.

The snaps are below.  Take a look and if you haven’t already taken a listen to Jaunty’s album Once Again, One Day.  He put it together after landing in Japan on the day of the 2011 tsunami and all proceeds to the album to towards Aid for Japan who are helping children orphaned by the tragedy.

Mayamada At MCM Expo

It’s October so naturally we’re talking about MCM Expo here at mayamada headquarters. It will be our first appearance since our first in October 2011 and we’ve got a few things in store for everyone that visits our stall during the 26th – 28th.

You’ll be able to get your hands on all our latest gear, plus a few others not available online.

Samurai Chef Manga

Plus a sneak peek at our new Samurai Chef t-shirt design made as part of our recent Indiegogo campaign.

Speaking of the campaign you will also be able to see the latest artwork for the book and preorder it right at our stall. If you can’t wait till then you can also preorder it online now.

Competitions

Like last year, we’ll be taking Cosplay photos throughout the expo.  This time around we’ll be giving evey cosplayer we photograph a  30% discount voucher for our online shop.

If you are a cosplayer make sure you drop by our stall and strike your best pose to take part.

 

We’re also running a competition to win a copy of the Samurai Chef manga book and an exclusive signed framed artwork featuring the Chef himself.

All you have to do is visit our stall at MCM Expo and get your picture taken while wearing the Samurai Chef hat.

After the show we’ll collect the best ones to put up on our Facebook page and the photo with the most likes by Sunday 11th November will win a copy of the book and exclusive artwork.

Samurai Chef competition terms and conditions

The competition is held by Mayamada. Participants must be 13 years or over.
To enter the competition, we’ll take a photograph of you wearing the Samurai chef’s hat while strike your best pose when you visit our stall at MCM Expo. All photographs taken of participants will be loaded up onto our Facebook page, Instagram and website.
The winner of the competition is the person that has the most likes on their photo by the end of Sunday 11th November (11:59pm). In the event of a tie, Mayamada has the discretion to name the winner.
The winner will receive a opy of the Samurai Chef manga book plus a signed a frame artwork piece by the 31st Janurary 2013 by post.
Mayamada would like to feature all participants in marketing and social media publicity after the event. Any copyright arising in photography and videos taken by Mayamada vest in Mayamada.

Anime Showtime Travel Info

Here’s a travel update for everyone heading to the screening this Sunday.

There is no Victoria line and no service to Loughborough Junction rail station unfortunately.  But we can officially announce that we’ve arranged to have you driven to the screening by one of the many red buses travelling on London roads 🙂

 

Public Transport

The easiest route is from Elephant and Castle underground station (Zone 1 +2, Bakerloo Line) where you can walk to bus stop R outside the shopping centre and catch bus number 45 or bus number 35 to Loughborough Junction rail station: http://g.co/maps/q336a

An alternative is to use replacement bus services which will run along the Victoria line to Brixton underground station.

From there you can cross to the side of the road opposite the station to bus stop T (in front of Haart/Specsavers) where you can catch bus 35 or bus 45.

Mayamada at the London Anime Convention

 

The London Anime Convention is fast approaching and we’ll be there on the 11th and 12th of February at the The Rocket Complex London Metropolitan University.

As well as anime screenings, video games, manga and cosplay, there’s a chance to see the latest mayamada t-shirts and artwork posters on sale too.

We’ll also be unveiling our BRAND NEW limited edition hoodie at the show so make sure you’re there to see it 🙂

Check out the Anime League website for all the events happening over the two days.  It’ll be our first appearance and we’ll be having fun with photos.  Whether you’re a cosplayer our not they will be a chance at winning a prize for taking part in our photo competitions.  All you have to stop by the mayamada stall and ask to join in – that’s it!

Last but not least, as sponsors of the show, 5 lucky people will be able to win t-shirts as part of the Anime Con event winners.

Mayamada Presents: Anime Showtime!

This Sunday will see the first screening of our Anime Showtime! Series of screening events.

 

We’ve rented out a cosy theatre at Whirled Art Cinema for you to hang out with us and watch an very cool anime film Summer Wars.
