Last year we released Samurai Chef Origins, a digital prologue comic featuring a young Samurai Chef on his journey to becoming the food slicing critic he is today.

We’ve been working on recreating that comic in colour which you will be able to see in a future issue of NEO Magazine!

London Anime & Gaming Con

We spent this past weekend at the London Anime & Gaming Con. As usual it was a good mix of the wacky and wonderful in a relaxed community environment.

The event also saw us give our first Q&A panel at any convention. We were given the opportunity to talk on stage about the brand and characters, Samurai Chef included, as well as the manga we create.

It was a great two days seeing some cool cosplayers, meeting new fans and we even saw a marriage proposal!

We’ve got our table placement for London Anime Con! We’ll be in front of the seating area facing the stage, stop by and say hi this weekend.

We’ll also be on the downstairs stage between 2.30pm and 3pm doing a manga Q&A. We’ll be talking about the mayamada brand and letting you ask us how we put together our manga titles. We’ll also be giving exclusive details on the upcoming Samurai Chef Volume 2, so don’t miss out!

Samurai Chef Manga Launch at Anime Con

The latest London Anime Convention is happening this month and mayamada will be at the show with brand new copies of the Samurai Chef manga book!

There will be a chance to win two copies of the Samurai Chef plus mayamada t-shirts. We’ll also be taking part in a Q&A session on the main stage.

London Anime Con takes pace on July 20-21 and will also feature voice Actor Mike Pollock, David Vincent and other guest to be announced. BOTH days shall feature a massively expanded Cosplay and Gaming elements including the Masquerade, Cosplay Auction, Cosplay talks and panels, photoshoots and much more!

Gaming tournaments shall include DDR, Smash, SSIV, Blazblue, Marvel v Capcom, Mario Kart, Halo 4, Gears of War, Modern Warfare 2, retro speedruns on Sonic, Mario etc, FIFA, Rockband, Slenderman, Super Meatboy AND MORE. All gaming tournaments shall have cash-prizes.

Make sure you’re there for both days for our manga launch and everything else the show has to offer.

We’ve been hard at work on the new website so it’s now easier for you to get products, find out about every mayamada character and see events past and present.

We’ve brought together all the main mayamada highlights in one place so you can get a better picture of what’s new with mayamada at any time.

Our shop has been given a major overhaul for 2013. More items are now available available to purchase. Not only t-shirts but caps, accessories and the new Samurai Chef manga book.

Samurai Chef Book is Complete

You’ve seen the preview, and now the books have been printed. That’s right, the Samurai Chef manga is complete and first run copies now available for order!

It was a long road and we want to say a big thank you to everyone who supported us while putting this together over the last six months.

Now we can’t wait for you to see what’s inside.

The Samurai Chef Volume 1 will be available on the mayamada website in early April.

But you can get your copy early by getting in contact with us before that.

Christmas Day Samurai Chef Preview

On Christmas Day we’ll be showing a 15 page preview of the Samurai Chef manga book for one week only. This will be the last chance to see the pages until the book is released next year.

Samurai Chef Indiegogo Update #4

As the weeks go by we’re getting closer to hitting one of the more wackier perks of our Indiegogo campaign – pets!

That’s right, as promised we will be turning pets into featured extras in the Samurai Chef storyline.

Two people requested this perk and this week we were sent the pictures of real pets doing real pet things.

We’ve got two very cute cats and and one goldfish who answers to Diamond.

This is what each pet looked like before their mayamada transformation.

Now comes the hard part. In a future update you’ll get to see how we turned these three into characters in the manga book.

…I for one am interested to see how Diamond turns out…Stay tuned ^_^

Samurai Chef Indiegogo Update #3

The response to the major characters from the Samurai Chef book has been great. We’re glad to finally start showing more of the project to you and this week we have even more…the first four pages of the book!

Remember, on December 25th we will have a big preview of the comic on the mayamada website!
