Anime Showtime Travel Info

Here’s a travel update for everyone heading to the screening this Sunday.

There is no Victoria line and no service to Loughborough Junction rail station unfortunately. ย But we can officially announce that we’ve arranged to have you driven to the screening by one of the many red buses travelling on London roads ๐Ÿ™‚

Public Transport

The easiest route is from Elephant and Castle underground station (Zone 1 +2, Bakerloo Line) where you can walk to bus stop R outside the shopping centre and catch bus number 45ย or bus number 35ย to Loughborough Junction rail station:ย http://g.co/maps/q336a
Head to bus stp R

It’s a 20 minute ride from Elephant and Castle to Loughborough Junction rail station:ย http://g.co/maps/u5p24

Bus journey to Loughborough Junction

Once you get to the bus stop near Loughborough Junction rail station, we’re right around the corner:ย http://g.co/maps/34u9y

Walk from Loughborough Junction

An alternative is to use replacement bus services which will run along the Victoria line to Brixton underground station.

From there you can cross to the side of the roadย oppositeย the station to bus stop T (in front of Haart/Specsavers) where you can catch bus 35 or bus 45.

The bus ride is less than 10 minutes and you need to get off at Loughborough Junction rail station and walk from there:ย http://g.co/maps/34u9y
Make sure to check on any engineering works that could affect your journey.

Here’s a run down of what we’ll be up to on the day.

Prizes

We’re going to kick things off by giving everyone a chance to take part in our competition to win a special prize.

Popcorn

Judging from the talk on our Facebook page, mixing sweet and salted popcorn is popular. Well, we’ll have both kinds available for you guys before the film starts.

Steamboy

Onceย everyoneย has their popcorn we’ll kick off the main event. There’ll be a short break in between the film before we continue.

Popup shop

We’ll have a one time popup shop featuring all the mayamada t-shirts from the gift shop available for a discounted price. We’ll also have the Word Salad tee in white which you can’t get on the website.

We’ll be back next week to give you all the travelย informationย so you know the best way to get to the screening.

Stay Tuned.

If you’ve been on our fan page for any length of time, you’ll know we’ve been working on a new hoodie for the past few months.

They were delivered last week but unfortunately, weren’t up to the standard we except for any item we put our name too.

We’re working on having them re-done as soon as we can, but because of that they’ll be a delay in getting them to you.

In the meantime, we’re offering FREE DELIVERY on every item in the gift shop on the website for the rest of the month.

We’ll have more sneak peek photos of the new hoodie like the one below soon.

Mayamada at the London Anime Convention

The London Anime Convention is fast approaching and we’ll be there on the 11th and 12th of February at the The Rocket Complex London Metropolitan University.

As well as anime screenings, video games, manga and cosplay, there’s a chance to see the latest mayamada t-shirts and artwork posters on sale too.

We’ll also be unveiling our BRAND NEW limited edition hoodie at the show so make sure you’re there to see it ๐Ÿ™‚

Check out the Anime League website for all the events happening over the two days.ย  It’ll be our first appearance and we’ll be having fun with photos.ย  Whether you’re a cosplayer our not they will be a chance at winning a prize for taking part in our photo competitions.ย  All you have to stop by the mayamada stall and ask to join in – that’s it!

Last but not least, as sponsors of the show, 5 lucky people will be able to win t-shirts as part of the Anime Con event winners.

You can get your tickets here and be sure to visit our stall while you’re at the show ๐Ÿ™‚

Interview With The Geek Show

During our first visit to MCM as dealers, we got the chance to meet up with the friendly guys over at the Geek Show. They do a live radio show every Monday 6-8pm which can be streamed live on thegeekshow.co.uk or on real life radio (104. 5 fm) if you’re in the Teesside area – that’s north England for our international viewers ๐Ÿ™‚

Our very own Lao K sat down with them and discuss all things mayamada. You can check out the interview right here:
