After a break from comic conventions over December and January, we had two in February. Just like buses, wait for ages and two come along almost at once!
It’s great for us though. We got to showcase our latest manga Hot Lunch at the London Anime & Gaming Con as well as hold two talks on stage on each day of the event. Public speaking can be nerve-wracking, but when we get to talk about the mayamada universe, creating stories and comics we jump at the chance.
After LAGC, we exhibited at the London Super Comic Con for the first time and meet a whole host of great artists, old friends, and fantastic cosplayers…
So fantastic that we had to put together our top five cosplayers from the show. So, in no particular order:
Big Sister | London Super Comic Con
We have to admit to not playing the latest in the Bioshock series, but still loved this Big Sister cosplay we spotted roaming the halls of comic con.
Goku | London Super Comic Con
Dragonball Z was one of our early highlights of anime shows. This cosplayer looks like he just got through battling Frieza!
Sadness & Joy | London Super Comic Con
Inside Out…Sorry, Oscar-winning Inside Out is a fantastic animation that covers a complex issue in a way only Pixar can. These two girls nailed Sadness and Joy from the film.
Velma & Shaggy | London Super Comic Con
The best thing about this cosplay? Not only has Shaggy made his own “Scooby Snax”, but they have the nutritional information on the side!
Captain Hook & Tinkerbell | London Super Comic Con
It’s the expressions as well as the costume that make a good cosplay and this is another great one from this pair.
…And Catbus
Ok so maybe we lied, but we just couldn’t resist adding this amazing Catbus we saw at the convention. We can only image how long this took to put together!
So those are our picks. Let us know if we missed a cosplayer and check out our full LSCC cosplay gallery on the mayamada Facebook page.

We’re now looking forward to our next comic con appearance in May. Another long wait…
