The end of May marks the start of a busy summer of events for mayamada. Six conventions plus the summer edition of GamePad means we’ll be keeping busy on our Summer Comic Con tour.
It kicked off with another appearance at the MCM London Comic Con, the UK’s largest pop culture event and this year really lived up to that title with the biggest attendance ever.
We brought our full range of British manga and character based clothing line too. In a place with so many established names in pop culture, comics and anime, it’s always great to be able to introduce people to a new concept and original work made right here in the UK!
We like seeing other characters too, especially when they come in the form of cosplay. Every comic con is a chance for us to meet new cosplayers and check out the amazing costumes people spend hours putting together.

Cats | London Comic Con
Maybe it’s the animal thing that does it for us…the costumes and make up worn by these two are fantastic. We wouldn’t be surprised if they had come straight from the West End!
Steampunk | London Comic Con
Among the comics book, TV and film characters we always spot a good steampunk cosplay at Comic Con and this is no exception.
Ash Ketchum & Nurse Joy | London Comic Con
It’s great when people come in matching cosplay and this Ash and Nurse Joy pair looked great together.
Gnar | London Comic Con
League of Legends is a popular cosplay and for good reason. The game has a ton of great cosplayable (yes that’s real word) character in including this great Gnar we spotted roaming the Excel Centre.
Judy Hopps & Nick Wilde | London Comic Con
And on the subject of cosplay pairings. Check out this amazing cosplay of Judy and Nick from Zootropolis! A great film and cool cosplay to match.
A Special Mention…
Couldn’t pass the chance to highlight this touching moment from Comic Con. Not entirely sure it’s character for Poison Ivy but we’re willing to let that go this time ^_^
