WHAT IS GAMEPAD?
mayamada GamePad is a social gaming event promoting inclusion and diversity in gaming and its audience.
Gaming today is often seen as a disconnected activity done by individuals online, but the GamePad team is out to challenge challenging an overemphasised perception of gaming being an unsocial and geeky pastime.
mayamada GamePad provides an opportunity for guys, girls and families to get involved. It’s a space where gaming is fun for everyone, as well as a great place to make new friends playing together.
WE NEED YOUR HELP
We’ve launched a Kickstarter campaign to allow us to bring our social gaming event to a new venue in East London’s Tech City. A new venue will allow us to reach more gamers. That’s more female gamers, gamers with disability and families who want to play together too.
“I LIKED THE DIVERSITY IN TERMS OF AGE RANGES AND PEOPLE, WE WERE ALL FROM DIFFERENT BACKGROUNDS AND ETHNICITIES BUT ALL WITH THE SAME LOVE…” – MIGUEL
GET INVOLVED NOW
The Kickstarter is live now and we would love to have your help to make the campaign a success.
Kickstarter is all about momentum. Backing the campaign early will help it get more visibility and increase its chance of success. Share the campaign with everyone you know too.
We also want to hear your gaming stories. Send us a video message of your favourite gaming memories with friends (or tag us on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter) and we’ll share it as part of the campaign. Let’s get the whole world talking and make this happen!
WHAT DO YOU GET?
A successful Kickstarter will mean you get to come to a safe and inclusive space for gamers from all walks of life to play together. Backing the Kickstarter also gives you the option to pick a reward, ranging from early bird 2 for 1 tickets, beanie hats, and exclusive signed gaming artwork.
“PEOPLE WERE INTERACTING WITH OTHERS WHILE GAMING, AND IT GAVE ME THE OPPORTUNITY TO SHARE TIME WITH MY CHILDREN DOING WHAT THEY ENJOY.” – SALLY
