If you’ve ever organised events, you’ll know it can be a real rollercoaster ride…
We’re really grateful to everyone who has attended our two GamePad events so far in 2019. The year got off to a great start with our New Year gaming celebration in north London. Being an events organiser means signing up to a rollercoaster of emotions in the lead up to the big day itself, and this was no different.
It’s that time of year again for London Games Festival; 12 days of game-related events and activities for you to attend all across London celebrating the gaming world we live in today! Whether you’re a casual gaming fan, a hardcore gamer or someone completely new to the scene then there’s bound to be something happening for you. Here’s a look at some of the top events that are coming up during this massive festival:
We’re setting up to do something we haven’t done in a long time…launch a Kickstarter for our next manga. Even if you’ve run a successful campaign before this can be a daunting prospect. Sending your creative ideas out to the mercy of the crowd, waiting for a collective thumbs up after 30 nerve-wracking days of promotion.
The London Comic Con is our biggest convention here in the UK and we’re excited for the opportunity to meet fans of our work and introduce new people to the mayamada universe!
Conventions are a great opportunity for any comic creator to get feedback on their comics from the people who invest in them. It gives people a chance to see those who actually make the comics that they enjoy and we’re looking forward to taking part!
The E3 Expo is the biggest week in the gaming calendar. So this week feels like the right time for us to launch our biggest GamePad project we’ve ever taken on: a Kickstarter for social gaming.
The start of 2017 has seen us start work on a new manga, our first in collaboration with another organisation. This is a totally new venture for us, and we’re excited to take on the challenge!
It’s that time of the year when we look back at the highlights of the past 12 months. For us at mayamada, the GamePad Christmas event was the top of that list. A big thanks goes to the team who supported us and everyone came down to made it an amazing day! Don’t worry if you missed out, check out our recap and join us again in spring 2017.
This year our #BeCreative campaign continued with a really fun photoshoot with creative people from all walks of life. But it’s probably not going to surprise anyone who follows mayamada that cosplayers are one of our favourite groups to speak too!
Back in 2015, we released issue 1 of our story about a young Rabbit named Blake and his big ambitions of becoming a success in the big city known as The Jungle. A year on and we’re almost ready for the launch of the complete volume!
