Young creatives face real barriers to entering creative industries — not because of talent, but because of access. Showrunners was built to close that gap, and give organisations a structured way to be part of the solution.
We think about impact constantly. Not just what we make — but who gets to be part of making it. If you’re at the stage in your career where you want your knowledge to genuinely open doors for someone else, Showrunners is where we make that happen. A real cohort. Outcomes you can point to, and a story worth telling.

Common Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
▼ What is the Showrunners programme?
Showrunners is our early-careers initiative creating structured pathways into the creative industries for diverse emerging talent. There are three ways to get involved: Showrunners Projects — short-term, project-based work experience tied to specific deliverables, free and open to join with no long-term commitment; Showrunners Programme — our structured 10–12 week programme across a selection of roles, free but requiring an application and interview; and Showrunners Training — a bespoke programme co-designed and delivered for an external partner or funder, scoped and costed per client.
▼ Who is Showrunners designed for?
It’s designed for diverse early-career talent — people who have the drive but haven’t yet had access to the right doors. We work with young people from a range of backgrounds, and the programme is built around the reality that talent is everywhere but opportunity isn’t.
▼ How can our organisation partner with Showrunners?
Organisations can host a cohort through the Showrunners Programme, co-design a bespoke Showrunners Training pathway, or commission tailored training for early-career staff or apprentices. Each model is different — get in touch and we’ll find the right fit for your team and goals.
▼ What do participants actually do during the programme?
Participants work on real mayamada projects across our brand pillars — from content and events to manga, gaming campaigns, and community work — matched to their skills and interests. It’s genuine creative industry experience alongside our team, with mentorship and clear outcomes, not filing and sitting in on meetings.
▼ What does our organisation get out of partnering with Showrunners?
A more inclusive talent pipeline, a structured way to support the next generation, and a partnership with a programme that has real credibility in the creative industries. You also get fresh perspectives from people who bring life experience your existing team may not have.
